Can I be sure that my jacket is warm enough for my winter hikes?We developed your jacket for wintry conditions: cold, rain and snow. Insulation is made from 100 g/m² wadding on the body and arms. The fleece-lined hood also lets you keep your head well protected and warm. The elastic tightening at the bottom of the jacket and sleeves is the finishing touch to ensure your jacket is comfortable.

Environmental information details:We have improved this product with an eco-design approach. The wadding and the outer fabric are made from recycled polyester guaranteeing effective product use. For the inner fleece or inner pockets, we have opted for mass pigmentation integrating the colour pigments from the initial thread manufacture which reduces water consumption.

How does my jacket protect me from outdoor conditions?Your jacket is designed with a waterproof outer component that keeps out water and wind. To keep you warm in winter you must also protect your extremities (head, hands, feet). The warm hood, the elastic tightening at the cuffs and the high collar prevent the cold from entering. Two warm pockets in extremely soft fleece protect your hands from the cold.

How can I be sure that my jacket is 100% waterproof?We designed your jacket with a coating on the outer fabric to make it waterproof The resistance of a fabric to water pressure is measured in the height in mm of a water column (Japanese standard - JIS 1092). The higher the water pressure, the more waterproof the fabric. A component with a waterproof rating of 23,000 mm can therefore withstand the pressure exerted by a 23 mm column of water (Schmerber). Test carried out before washing.

Water often gets in through the seams. Does my jacket have waterproof seams?Your jacket is waterproof thanks to its taped main seams. Waterproof tape is added to the seams inside the garment to make them watertight so that water cannot enter through the more vulnerable areas. We have checked the waterproofing with a specially-designed shower test to reproduce conditions under a 30-minute rain shower. We also wore it in the field in all weather conditions to make sure that it is suited to your activities.

How to preserve the technical qualities of my jacket?A fabric's water repellent property is its capacity to make water run off its surface without seeping in. This prevents the fabric from soaking up water and keeps it lightweight, warm and breathable. The water repellent property is achieved by treating the fabric's exterior. This treatment must be renewed throughout the garment's lifespan (recommended after each wash). Products (spray or liquid) for this purpose are available in our stores.

How to dress properly for snow hiking?To dress properly in winter, whatever your activity, we recommend using the 3-layer principle: layer 1: The high-tech base layer transfers moisture away from the body to keep your skin dry. layer 2: The second layer (fleece, sweater) provides warmth and transfers moisture outwards. layer 3: The jacket protects you from the outdoor conditions: rain, snow, wind. The whole outfit must be breathable in order to eliminate moisture.
