To boast this certification, the boot has to pass laboratory tests designed to identify the grip coefficient on various surfaces (smooth, rugged, dry, wet). To validate these tests, we have the quality of our soles assessed in the field, on hikes, by a panel of testers covering 500 km. The soles of these boots were given a grip score of 5/5, and are OUTDOORCONTACT©-certified.

How to choose the fabric of my walking socksMoisture must be effectively managed when walking: we perspire, it’s bound to happen. This model of shoe delivers some breathability thanks to its mesh material at the front of the foot. It will wick away the moisture of your perspiration. It is therefore necessary to choose a light and breathable sock as well.

What socks should you wear with the NH500 shoe?You should opt for the NH500 Low or NH500 Mid socks: they contain moisture-absorbing cotton and have a reverse terry-knit construction that wicks moisture away from your foot. They are high enough to protect your ankle from the shoe. This is an excellent combination for minimising the likelihood of blisters.

Designed for hiking useOur hiking boots are designed for use on hiking trails. Indeed, we choose the components of the sole and upper of our boots and test them to ensure that they are ideally suited to walking on loose trails (e.g. unpaved forest paths) or rocky trails (e.g. rocky coastal paths). Road use (tarmac) may lead to premature wear on your shoes and cause discomfort. They are not suitable for mountain walking.

Durability testsLaboratory tests were also conducted to test the following elements: tearing eyelets and straps, gluing, toxicology, UV resistance, abrasion resistance of outsole and upper components, accelerated ageing. These tests allow us to improve the quality of our products and prevent premature wear of our hiking shoes.

We have reduced our environmental impact on this productWe've improved this product through an eco-design procedure on : - Upper, laces and loops, tongue and collar lining: 100% recycled polyester - Inner sole: 85% recycled polyurethane foam -Outsole: 30% recycled rubber These actions represent 31% of the weight of the shoe. The use of recycled materials helps to reduce the depletion of resources by recycling end-of-life materials. Technical use and quality are guaranteed.

What is the origin of our leather?We use a leather called ‘nubuck’. It has a soft, silky feel. The leather used in these shoes comes from cows. No animals are killed for the production of this leather: we only use the waste products from the food industry.

Maintaining your leather bootsAfter your hikes, we advise you to: - Leave your shoes to dry near a heat source - Brusquely brush, using a hard-bristled brush, the dry leather to remove any mud and dirt - Use a soft-bristled brush or nubuck eraser to remove any stains - If the stains are stubborn, clean them using a brush and a little warm water - Leave to dry - Brush again using a hard-bristled brush - Spray with a waterproofing product: this will make the leather shine and bring out the colours

The shoe/sock combination plays an important roleThere are multiple factors which may cause blisters when you are walking: rubbing, a crease in the sock, moisture, a boot size that is too small or too big, etc. It is therefore important to choose the right size and to have socks made of the right material for your walking boots.

How to choose the size of my walking socks?You need to choose the correct sock size for your feet to avoid any extra folds forming. These folds may form because the sock is too big and therefore there is too much material around your foot, or because the sock so small and is pulled towards the inside of your foot.
